Abstract (English)
Argentine Tango dancer, instructor, and choreographer.
He began his professional career in 1995. In Buenos Aires, he performed in the city’s most renowned tango shows, including Señor Tango, Viejo Almacén, Tango Porteño, Piazzolla Tango, and Central Tango, among others.
He toured internationally with prestigious companies such as Tango Fire and Una Noche en Buenos Aires, performing in Australia, Chile, the United States, and Brazil. In parallel, he has taught classes and presented demonstrations in Slovenia, the Netherlands, France, Romania, Spain, Thailand, England, Brazil, the USA, Turkey, Japan, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, and Russia.
His choreographic work includes productions presented in major theaters worldwide, such as Espectáculo de Música Ciudadana (Argentine Theatre, La Plata – Argentina, 2006), Una Noche en Buenos Aires Tour (Brazil, 2007), Harmonize (Brick Hall Theater, Nagasaki – Japan, 2009), Angel Gate (2010), New Era (2012), Art of Space (2016), Moment (2018), and Gift (2020), all presented in Nagasaki, Japan. His work has also been featured at Laeiszhalle Hamburg (Germany) and Bunkamura Theatre Tokyo (Japan), including María de Buenos Aires at Theater Lübeck (Germany, 2019).
He has also worked as a choreographer for television, directing a scene for the German series Traumschiff (Polyphon Film).
He is the founder and artistic director of Gotambó – Hidden Rhythms, a contemporary tango company dedicated to exploring the African roots of tango through the fusion of Afro rhythms, movement, and traditional tango language. His original production Afrikano embodies this artistic research, reimagining tango as a living, hybrid, and deeply rooted cultural expression.
He is currently engaged as a dancer in the production of María de Buenos Aires at the Düsseldorf Opera (Deutsche Oper am Rhein), from February to July 2026.

Inició su carrera profesional en 1995. En Buenos Aires participó en los espectáculos de tango más reconocidos de la ciudad, entre ellos Señor Tango, Viejo Almacén, Tango Porteño, Piazzolla Tango y Central Tango.
Realizó giras internacionales con prestigiosas compañías como Tango Fire y Una Noche en Buenos Aires, presentándose en Australia, Chile, Estados Unidos y Brasil. Paralelamente, ha dictado clases y ofrecido demostraciones en Eslovenia, Países Bajos, Francia, Rumania, España, Tailandia, Inglaterra, Brasil, Estados Unidos, Turquía, Japón, Italia, Suiza, Austria, Alemania y Rusia.
Su trabajo como coreógrafo incluye producciones presentadas en importantes teatros del mundo, como Espectáculo de Música Ciudadana (Teatro Argentino de La Plata, 2006), Una Noche en Buenos Aires Tour (Brasil, 2007), Harmonize (2009), Angel Gate (2010), New Era (2012), Art of Space (2016), Moment (2018) y Gift (2020), todas presentadas en el Brick Hall Theater de Nagasaki, Japón. First steps:
In 1995, Andrés Sautel started his dance career. In the following year, he received special recognition in several Buenos Aires youth Tango tournaments for his individual dance performance; he was also awarded silver and bronze medals in the group dance category. From 1997 onwards, he started to give lessons and to prepare himself to become a professional dancer.
